The New Orleans Saints announced Thursday they would require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test upon entry to games this season.
The announcement comes after New Orleans on Thursday became the first Southern city to implement a vaccine mandate for indoor venues and outdoor gatherings of more than 500 people.
Plans remain for the Caesars Superdome to be at full capacity for Saints games during the 2021 NFL season.
To get into the Caesars Superdome, fans must provide proof of vaccination by bringing their vaccination card or verified digital proof, like the LA Wallet or other government app. If fans aren’t vaccinated or won’t be fully vaccinated by game day, a negative PCR test result within 72 hours is necessary.
Masks will be required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status and age, according to the Saints. The only exception to the mask mandate is while actively eating or drinking.
Failure to comply with the city of New Orleans’ mask mandate at Caesars Superdome will result in ejection from the stadium.
In accordance with New Orleans’ new COVID-19 guidelines, Tulane will also require proof of vaccination or negative PCR test within 72 hours of attending athletic events, Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel reported Thursday.
