Over the years, home reno and real estate pros Dave and Kortney Wilson have flipped over 150 properties. Now, they’re switching gears and using their expertise to help give clients their dream homes in HGTV’s new series Making it Home with Kortney and Dave.
In Making it Home, Kortney and Dave Wilson, who have since separated, help families transform their fixer-uppers into functional and cozy spaces. Many of these folks struggle to feel at home in their house, but Kortney and Dave will step in and refresh clients’ spaces by reimagining floor plans, picking out new decor elements, and more. In the end, the goal of each renovation is simple: to help clients “make it home. ” But also, keep it all within budget.
The series premiered on Monday night on HGTV US as Kortney and Dave met Michael and Elizabeth. The couple lived in a house that had A LOT of sentimental value for Michael, but not much for his wife: his childhood home. Kortney and Dave modernized this ’80s house to make Elizabeth feel like it was her own. Highlights include an open floor plan, new flooring, and more kitchen storage space for Elizabeth.
Prior to this series, Kortney and Dave starred in the HGTV’s Masters of Flip, which premiered in 2015 and ran for four seasons on HGTV Canada, but only season one and two were shown on HGTV US. Kortney and Dave had initially rose to stardom on CMT’s Meet the Wilsons and The Wilsons Flip Out, where they juggled raising their kids while flipping houses.
Making it Home with Kortney and Dave airs on HGTV on Mondays at 9 p.m. EST/PST. The series’ first season originally premiered on HGTV Canada in January 2020, with the season finale airing in March.
